Doggerbank - British Speybank captured by raider and put into service as covert minelayer Doggerbank. Operated off South Africa but story stretches from Japan to North America. Famous in the annals of maritime survival for epic journey of ship and survivors after multiple sinking's including by own side.
Also I've seen somewhere a post about Auxiliaries carrying seaplanes that looked interesting. If someone can point me too it I will include that too.
The Germans have plenty of early destroyers, but nothing in the late war with, e.g. the fearsome twin 128 mm Flak 40 dual purpose guns the Zerstörer 1944 class would have had
