I noticed on facebook there is a lot of small splinter groups for the various axis and allies games. With the popularity of social media ever increasing I think the Facebook angle is a great complementary (not competing with ) way to build the community and get the games across in a different way then the forum (which is great forum).
So I created a new Facebook group called everything axis and allies , if you have Facebook....please join lol.
It would be great if we could get more cross posting so that people can see what all the different groups are doing.
That was what I was thinking treating axis and allies as a brand so you have all this synergy and cross over of whats going on ex; second printing of anniversary , zombies, new forumini deck , air game scenarios , land game being played at convention etc.
Now having said this it would be hard to build a big community even on facebook , 100 people would be even a big step and take a while . But i think new ways have to be looked at to draw the attention of new players and the axis and allies brand needs more visibility
It's more then 3k likes on Facebook (their actual site is probably smaller then here now )but has very limited content and is 99percent based around the board games. It's not active enough to draw new people in especially on facebook. Facebook is great for getting new people's attention then when they are hooked and want to become hardcore they find forums like this afterwards.
I’m just thinking of the various enclaves that already exist. I know they have a specific purpose, and it sounds like your idea is to have a place where their stuff and our stuff and all the other stuff can have access to a wider audience.
I feel like reddit is an ideal place for this as well. I searched for Axis and Allies as well as I could and the only thing I could find was a tips and strategies subreddit for the board games.

If nothing else it would unite the 3 miniature games and boardgames under a single group on facebook with the potential of higher volume since everything isn't all splintered.
My only bump if you have facebook join the group is growing nicely (170 so far) it's good for all the games to have a social media presence under one roof, thanks.
Thanks I think it is an unmet need on Facebook and I am hoping it captures the excitement of being a fan and playing .
I am going to start doing some quirky reviews that focus on different things such as War at sea vs Pacific victory (or could be the other axis and allies games)but rather then be a conventional review it will be in which game is a Japanese victory more likely. Or comparing the 3 miniature games and reviewing which of the 3 is the United kingdom , Italy etc most powerful in or some other factor.
I am getting more of the boardgames under my belt but still need a bit more experience. But its fun to get to play all these games, maybe I can start asking for review copies of product lol.
